We are looking for more help, the Club is run completely by volunteers on a not for profit basis. We are growing, the shows are popular and we are very proud of our achievements - but we are short of help!
If you don't want to see the Club and the shows come to an end and you could give us a little time either on the day or behind the scenes please let us know by contacting a committee member or messaging the Club.
PLEASE RETURN PRESENTATION NIGHT TROPHIES ASAP!
A lovely last show to finish our 2025 season. Good weather and not too busy but some fantastic horses and ponies forward. The Concours D'Elegance and Fancy Dress classes were both well attended and there were some stunning and innovative outfits, so much so that the judge had to call for assistance to decide on a winner! Thanks to all our judges, stewards, sponsors, photographers, trade stalls, caterers and helpers this season - we can't do it without you and we're very grateful for your help.
Our Showing Champions were as follows:
Senior In Hand Champion Helen Jackson and Bombay Limited Edition
Senior Reserve Champion Rachel Ruston and Colour of Money
Junior In Hand Champion Evie Cashon and Poppy
Junior Reserve Champion Vienna Asquith and Freddy
The Senior Ridden Champion was Taylor Coles and Cracker
The Senior Reserve Champion was Rachel Ruston and Colour of Money
The Junior Ridden Champion was Libby Woodhall and George
The Junior Reserve Ridden Champion was Brooke Beaver and Mystical Dreamer
Massive congratulations to them all
The ground for the jumping was perfect and our new planks and poles were on show courtesy of Skyline Show Jumps. Tracey McNeil and Bella reclaimed bragging rights by winning the Chase Me Charlie this month finishing on 1 metre and just beating Elissa Stephenson with Blossom.
The Presentation Night is at the Ferrybridge Community Centre on the 4th October and tickets are now available to Champions and Reserves. We will email you with the details using the email address on your membership form, please check with whoever this may belong to if you do not receive an email!
STARS Class Champions will also be emailed with the opportunity to go to Aintree to represent the Club, we must have our entries in by 30th September 2025 so please reply asap whether you are wishing to attend or not. If the Champion cannot attend then the place can pass down the line. If you are interested in going to STARS please make sure you check their rules around who is eligible and check the acceptable vaccination period. STARS are producing some personalised merchandise which will include hoodies in the Club colours so keep a look out on the Club Facebook group for more news on that.
Whether you're going to STARS or just want some tips and tricks on showing you're welcome to join us at our Showing Clinic on 19 October. This is held indoors at Ledston Equine Centre WF10 2BB and is run by the fabulous Vikki Smith. It's a great opportunity for access to a top trainer for really reasonable price of £25 per session. Please book early via the Pre Entry page so we can sort out how many sessions we need to run. Each session will be an hour long and we normally run one session for In Hand and Lead Rein and two or more sessions for the Ridden entries.
No show gear required but please book early and include Clinic in your payment reference.
Thanks to all our helpers, judges, stewards, caterers and photographers for all their hard work this year - as well as our competitors!
We're affiliated to several Championship shows from Hickstead to Aintree so check out the qualifying classes if you're interested.
Sponsors
We are very grateful to all our sponsors, new and old. We'd like to thank:
Mr Ronnie Fowkes for sponsoring trophies for the Best Condition, Best Coloured Horse, The Bonny Pony and the Young Handler Classes this year.
Clare Stansill for again sponsoring the Pretty Mare Class in loving memory of Dani Stansill
JC Equine Massage Services are kindly providing vouchers for the winners of the Ridden Veteran and the 80 cm horse jumping. Her facebook page is here
J & V Catering for sponsoring the 50 cm Jumping Class - catering for all our events and keeping us all fed
All Becky Simpson's yard friends for sponsoring the Chase Me Charlie Class in her loving memory
Please have a look on the sponsors page for information regarding the services they offer and their contact details.
STARS - The Champions in the relevant classes that match to the STARS classes will be informed at the end of the year and asked if they want to attend. If they decline then the qualification can pass down the line - entry fees are then collected by us and we do the entries for STARS for you. The schedule is on their Facebook page along with all the rules so please go and check before you agree to go. It's a fantastic show over four days at Aintree and the Club needs to send as many members as possible in order to be able to affiliate next year.
If you're hoping to qualify for any of the Championships please check their rules on the links below.
The Club is pleased to confirm that Rachel Jane Cox Photography, Alice Marie Photography and Millie Grace Photography will be covering the shows, their details are on the sponsors and links page so take a look at all their previous work.
